OUR PROGRAM
At Mimi's Skoolhouse, we offer a nurturing, in-home preschool experience for children ages 2–6 that gently bridges the gap between home and school. Our program provides a classroom-like environment and daily routine to help children prepare for their future school years, while still feeling the warmth, comfort, and security of home and relationship. Here, we believe strong relationships are the foundation of early childhood development. At this age, children thrive when they feel seen, loved, and connected, which is why we prioritize building meaningful, trusting relationships with every child.
Our curriculum is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, an educational philosophy that views children as capable, curious, and natural learners. Through hands-on exploration, creativity, and child-led discovery, we encourage children to ask questions, express themselves, and engage deeply with the world around them, while also introducing early math and literacy skills in a way that is engaging, age-appropriate, and integrated into everyday learning experiences.
We offer a sense of comfort and care through our nutrition - as well as healthy habits, of course! Children enjoy homemade lunches and snacks prepared daily. Free of toxic ingredients such as high fructose syrups, color dyes, etc.
We also spend a significant part of our day learning outdoors, connecting with nature, encouraging movement, and supporting overall well-being.
At Mimi's Skoolhouse, children are not rushed through childhood—they are guided, supported, and given the space to grow, explore, and truly belong. We believe childhood is a sacred and foundational season, not something to hurry past. In a world that often pushes children to grow up too quickly, we intentionally slow down to honor their natural pace of development. Through play, wonder, and meaningful connection, children build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. We value the small moments—curiosity, imagination, questions, and discovery—because we know these are the experiences that shape not only what children learn, but who they become. Here, childhood is protected, celebrated, and deeply respected.
